    The Hobie 16 Aussie upper forestay runs parallel to the Aussie Forestay and is for the jib halyard line. The Jib Halyard line raises and jib and controls the mast rake. It runs from the top of the jib, thru the fiddle blocks and down the mast to the halyard cleat. The Aussie system provides a 4:1 pulley system to allow for easy mast rake adjustment on the fly and the independent forestay provides redundant a safety system if the jib luff wire or the jib halyard were to break.     The Hobie 16 main halyard comptip is used to raise the main sail on a Hobie 16 with a comptip on the mast. The main halyard comptip features a long rope section connected to a shorter wire section with a stopper and halyard shackle with a captured pin.     Hobie 16 Shroud Extra Heavy Duty 5/32" Murrays Part# 002-0205-12 The Murrays Heavy Duty 5/32" Hobie 16 shroud (sidestay) wire is an extra heavy duty shroud for the Hobie 16.  It is 5/32 wire compared to the standard 1/8" wire and we use a roller swaged marine eye fitting on the lower connection point.
