This is for use on the classic style Hobie 16 jib halyard system with a short upper forestay and metal pulley up near the mast tang that was standard in the 70s, 80s and early 90s. There are 2 styles of Hobie 16 jib halyard. This wire Hobie 16 jib halyard works with the old style upper and lower forestay and the metal halyard pulley. The 2nd style is the Aussie jib halyard with it's parallel forestay and jib halyard that became stock in the mid 1990s. Compare to Hobie Part# 20661001

There are 2 styles of Hobie 16 jib halyard, Classic and Aussie. This wire Hobie 16 jib halyard works with the original style with a short upper forestay a metal pulley for the jib halyard and a lower forestay. The 2nd style is the Aussie jib halyard that has a forestay that runs parallel to the jib halyard that became stock in the mid 1990s.
