HOBIE 16 Comp-tip Assembly

New Comp Tip assembly for Hobie 16. The comp tip is a composite mast section that replaced the aluminum section at the top of the Hobie 16 mast. This change along with the rope halyard section reduced the electrocution risk from raising your mast into power lines or moving your boat into overhead power lines. Comp does not stand for competition. 

It is generally believed that the comptip reduces performance in Hobie 16 sailboats in light wind, while increasing performance in heavy wind, with the ability to induce more mast bend with the downhaul and depower the boat/ move the center of effort down.
