The Hobie factory replacement Delrin rudder screw is used to tension the rudder locking system in the lower rudder casting of the Hobie 14, 16, 17, 18, 20 and 21. This is the vertical screw that tensions your rudder locking spring that pushes the rudder plunger into the rudder cam. 

Removing old screws can be a difficult task as they will often become seized and need to be drilled out.

Removal and Installation notes: Most often you will need to drill out the old Delrin rudder screw, use a 5/8" spade bit. To clean out the threads in the aluminum casting, use a 3/4-10 tap. Both tools should be available at your local hardware store.  Don't forget to lubricate the new screw with a heavy marine grease so it won't seize again.

Compatible with the Hobie 14/16/17/18/20/21/ as well as older Hobie Wave and Getaway catamarans that have metal rudder housings.
