Alpha Rope SSR 8mm Racing Sheet is Alpha’s single braid racing sheet it’s extremely versatile, light, strong, abrasion-resistant and durable. It is popular among Olympic sailors and recreational racers alike. Alpha SSR 8mm Racing Sheet does not absorb water. It has a soft hand feel and does not kink making SSR an great all-around sheeting line. Comparable to 3/8″ line and great for use as a mainsheet on Hobiecat, Nacra and Prindle catamarans.

Alpha SSR 8mm Common uses: Main and jib sheets on beach catamarans, dinghies, sport boats and keelboats.

SSR Hand/Feel: SSR has a very soft feeling, with good grip.

Materials: Dyneema SK78 / Cordura blend Dyneema is its strength and enables it to have a high working load, while the Cordura gives this line soft handle and great cleating characteristics. The Dyneema / Cordura blend does not absorb water, so the line retains its light weight at all times.

Splicing Alpha SSR: SSR is a solid braid and is not easy to splice

Stiffness: SSR is a very flexible line that will run thru blocks easily

Alpha SSR 8mm is ideal for all Hobie, Nacra, Prinldle, and Solcat catamarans: 8mm line is a very common Jib sheet diameter for Dingys and beach cats, its also used on smaller crafts as a mainsheet.
