HOBIE 16 AUSSIE JIB HALYARD KIT

The Aussie jib halyard has been stock on all Hobie 16s since 2009 with many racers implementing it before then.  Aussie forestays can be used on any generation Hobie 16.  The Aussie jib halyard has 2 main advantages: One is the redundant safety as it is independent of the forestay. And two is the 4:1 pulley system makes it easier to adjust the mast rake, even while underway. Class legal for racing.

The Murrays kit improves upon the Hobie kit in that we use Robline Dinghy Control Line instead of dyneema for the halyard line.  Dinghy control line has a dyneema core so it will not stretch and it has a grippy durable cover making it easier to handle and last much longer. We also include a fairlead strap that is used to hold the halyard line as close to the mast as possible to prevent the battens from catching on it when tacking.

Aussie upper forestay with reinforced Ronstan fiddle block - 20810041

Halyard line is Robline Dinghy Control Line with Dyneema core.

Zippered halyard line pouch

Fairlead with sealed rivets

Ronstan 30mm lower block with twisted D shackle 

*Recommended for use with the 2009+ Aussie Forestay and Jib halyard tension kit.  Although neither are required for use.
