Downhaul Kit 8:1 H18

This is a performance upgrade downhaul kit that give increased performance control for your Hobie 18 Catamaran. The downhaul leads are run to the side of the boat for crew control and the loads are oriented to reduce sail tack damage that is common on the H18. It takes minutes to install with a rivet gun a drill and approximate measuring. 
The kit was born from a discussion at the 2023 NACs wherein many of the boats in Division 4 have a variation of the cascading downhaul system and haven't heard of the shredding tack issue that many of us are familiar with. The 2:1 of the cascade pulls the sail forward into the mast and more effectively resists the outhaul load from the 4:1 stock downhaul or the 5:1 Performance downhaul system. 

The pivoting cleat should be mounted approximately two inches back and eight inches up from the mast base on each side and the clam cleat should be mounted three and a quarter inches back and ten inches up from the mast base.
