8-32 DRILL BIT AND TAP

8-32 DRILL BIT AND TAP is just a basic little drill and tap tool that cuts well into aluminum.  Just drill it in and back it out and you have a perfect 8-32 threaded hole that you can screw 8-32 screws into.  We recommend it for mounting small cleats to your crossbar, and is included in our Wave - Smooth Sailing Kit. Its great for roller furler line cleats.  There are other random hardware installations that would benefit from this if you have a power drill, instead of trying to use self tapping screws. 

We have found that using machine screws with a fine tread, 8-32, work better for mounting cleats to your crossbar and mast than using course thread self tapping screws which tend to go in crooked and then start to wiggle after a while.  If you use this tap and put a 8-32 screw they will hold much better and last longer.
