    Hobie 16 Main Halyard Non-Comptip is a wire halyard for the all-aluminum mast (non Comp-Tip) Hobie 16 and is used to raise the main sail. Constructed to factory specifications, and includes a 2nd stopper as a reef point stopper. This is the standard halyard for Hobie 16's with an all aluminum mast which were standard before 1986.     H18/20 Updated Luff Track 12.5" Murrays Part# 50-50404101 Hobie® factory aluminum luff track update is 12-1/2" long The Hobie 20 need the extra strength to prevent the sail from pulling out of the luff track. The Hobie 18 uses this as an extension to the wave luff track, the extra strength is great but was not stock on the boat.

    This is for use on the classic style Hobie 16 jib halyard system with a short upper forestay and metal pulley up near the mast tang that was standard in the 70s, 80s and early 90s. There are 2 styles of Hobie 16 jib halyard. This wire Hobie 16 jib halyard works with the old style upper and lower forestay and the metal halyard pulley. The 2nd style is the Aussie jib halyard with it's parallel forestay and jib halyard that became stock in the mid 1990s. Compare to Hobie Part# 20661001

    The Hobie 16 Aussie upper forestay runs parallel to the Aussie Forestay and is for the jib halyard line. The Jib Halyard line raises and jib and controls the mast rake. It runs from the top of the jib, thru the fiddle blocks and down the mast to the halyard cleat. The Aussie system provides a 4:1 pulley system to allow for easy mast rake adjustment on the fly and the independent forestay provides redundant a safety system if the jib luff wire or the jib halyard were to break.
