Main Halyard Ring (Murrays)

If you're having trouble raising or lowering your mainsail due to a faulty halyard ring and shackle, this upgrade will help. Welded ring and lanyard give you more positive control while hooking or unhooking the ring to the hook. Use on any boat that uses a hook at the mast head and a ring and shackle at the head of the sail. Personal preference dictates whether you choose this ring or the Hobie Aussie Ring (#07-3064).

This item replaces discontinued Performance Sports #9838 Main Halyard Lock Ring for Prindle 18-2/19

While many line guides state 1/4" halyard line. We recommend 3/16" VLS line for your halyard line, or 5mm dinghy control if you want to get fancy! 

Always run your line through the loop and tie a stopper knot that will face the mast. Orient the ring opposite the hook side. In the video we see an H18 with solid aluminum mast. The hook is on the port side so the loop is on the starboard side. If you have a comptip, this is reversed.
